Giving Back
A portion of the proceeds of each book sold benefits local charities. The most recent donation years follows:
In 2018, Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield, MA; Friends of the Edwards Public Library, Southampton, MA; Westfield Athenaeum Rise to Knowledge Campaign. Also, with the launch of my third book, Visits with Mom: A Journey Through Time and Beyond, I had a launch party at the Edwards Public Library in September and the author fee was donated to a town charity chosen by the library staff.
In 2017, Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield, MA; Friends of the Edwards Public Library, Southampton, MA; "Book Fairy" donation to Blue Umbrella Books, Westfield, MA. Also, the Food Pantry at the First Congregational Church in Southampton, MA, received a donation following a book lecture at the Edwards Public Library.
In 2016, Guthrie Center, Great Barrington, MA; Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield, MA; Friends of the Edwards Public Library, Southampton, MA. Also, a donation was made to Margaret's Pantry in Holyoke, MA, following a private leture party that was hosted by a Holyoke family.
In 2015, donations have been made to Shark Angels, New York, Sean Allen Courage and Hope Challenge, Longmeadow, MA (St. Mary’s Guild, Longmeadow), Arcadia/Massachusetts Audubon, Easthampton, MA (Robert Floyd Gallery, Southampton, MA, matched a donation from lecture participants), Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield, MA, Friends of the Edwards Public Library, Southampton, MA, New England Public Radio, Springfield, MA.
In 2014, donations have been made to ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, New England Public Radio, Edwards Public Library (Easthampton, MA), Westfield Athenaeum (Westfield, MA), Sisters of St. Joseph’s General Fund (Holyoke, MA), and Dominican Nuns (West Springfield, MA), Lourdes Volunteers, Vitamin Angels, Farm Sanctuary-Watkins Glen, N.Y., Oceana, World Wildlife Fund, American Forests.
In 2013, donations have been made to Friends of the Edward Public Library, Southampton, MA, Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum, Oxfam America for a "grove of miracle trees," and WFCR – New England Public Radio.
